Busan is the second largest city in Korea after Seoul. Geographically closer to Japan, it has been greatly influenced by Japan. Moreover, it is close to the sea, Busan has unique culture and atmosphere compared to Seoul. That’s why Korean people also like to travel to Busan.
By KTX, bullet train, it takes 2 hours to get to Busan from Seoul, so if you come to Korea, I recommend adding Busan to your itinerary.
In this post, I will introduce travel courses focusing on places you must visit during your trip to Busan.
1 day Busan tour itinerary (departing from Seoul)
It’s a little tight, but not impossible. This course departs from Seoul around 7:00, arrives at Busan Station at 9:30, and returns to Seoul at 19:00 in the evening. The schedule is as follows:
- Departure from Seoul Station
- Arrival at Busan Station
- Gamcheon Culture Village
- Nampo-dong, Gukje Market
- Jagalchi Market
- Songdo Skywalk
- Choryang Ibagu-gil
- Busan Station(to Seoul)
This course start with Gamcheon Culture Village, which is an essential travel course in Busan,
Songdo Skywalk, Nampo-dong and Gukje Market, which are like a combination of Myeongdong and Namdaemun in Seoul, and Jagalchi Market, the most famous fish market in Busan.
However, for those who have some time left or feel like something is missing, we added Choryang Ibagu Road near Busan Station.
I did not include Haeundae on the assumption that you use public transportation and are a first-time traveler with limited access to transportation. (If you include Haeundae, you will have to rush to get around).
In fact, it is good to see the night view near Haeundae, so I recommend not going unless you are staying one night. However, if your goal is to take the Haeundae Sky Capsule or the coastal train, the following schedule is also possible instead of the Songdo Skywalk.
- Departure from Seoul Station
- Arrival at Busan Station
- Gamcheon Culture Village
- Nampo-dong, Gukje Market
- Jagalchi Market
- haeundae skycapsule
- Busan Station(to Seoul)
2 days and 1 night Busan tour itinerary
If you take the KTX and stay one night in Busan, Haeundae is better than Busan Station. This is because there are places to go at night. Excluding Busan’s peak season from July to September and the end of the year, Haeundae hotel rates are in the 50,000 to 70,000 won range, which is in excellent condition.
Day 1
- Arrival at Busan Station
- Gamcheon Culture Village
- Nampo-dong/Gukje Market
- Jagalchi Market
- Songdo Skywalk
- Rest at Hotel
- Marine City/The Bay 101 or Go to Gwangalli or Busan Yacht
Day 2
- Dongbaek island & APEC house
- Haedong Yonggungsa Temple
- Haeundae Sky Capsule
- Huinnyeoul Cultural Village
- Taejongdae
- Busan Station
It may be a bit tight to explore this place in 2 days by public transportation, but it is fully possible. However, you must use the subway and taxi together. Unlike Seoul, where you can get to almost anywhere by subway, Busan’s public transportation is somewhat inconvenient.
3 days and 2 night Busan tour itinerary
If you are staying more than two nights in Busan, we recommend adding Gyeongju to your itinerary. Personally, I think Gyeongju is a place you must visit if you come to Korea. The entire city of Gyeongju is a cultural heritage site. However, it does not have any cultural heritage. There is Hwangridan Road, which has emerged as a really hot place recently, and it is even fun. I don’t think Korea is very attractive as a travel destination, but Gyeongju is an exception.
Therefore, if you are planning a trip to Busan including Gyeongju, I recommend purchasing a KORAIL pass. It saves you a lot more than simply buying a ticket.
If you are looking for a hotel in Busan, I would like to recommend a few places.
